Atlantic Denture Clinic reminds all patients that dentures often become loose over time as your mouth changes. This is quite natural and happens to everyone. A loss of weight will also cause a denture to loosen and not fit properly. There are steps we can take to fix the problem.
Update Your Fit with a New Base
Our experienced Nova Scotia denture clinic uses rebasing as a technique to reline your denture. An impression of your mouth is taken and the base of the denture is replaced while leaving your teeth in the same position. You get an updated fit with a new base but your appearance doesn’t change.
We Offer Same-Day Service on Rebases
If Atlantic Denture Clinic did not make the denture, we will need you to come in for an examination to ensure rebasing is the proper treatment for you. If we did create your denture, we can typically have your updated denture completed in one day. We can schedule you for an appointment before 10 a.m. and then have your denture ready around 4 p.m. the same day.
Important: We ask that you do not use denture adhesives on the day you come in for your appointment.
We Are Your Full-Service Repair Centre
Atlantic Denture Clinic is pleased to offer complete denture repairs to meet your busy schedule. Keep in mind that repairs take different amounts of time depending on your unique situation. We reserve the right to adjust our fees based on the amount of time involved. However, you can rest assured that the price we quote will not change.
We Fix Dentures Created by Other Clinics
Our highly-trained staff will fix all dentures, even those we did not fabricate. It’s important to understand that we will fix the broken part of your denture. It is doubtful that we will be able to fix the reason why your denture originally broke. If you have a tooth or multiple teeth pop out of a denture, it is typically due to the balance of your denture as it moves against your other denture or natural teeth when you chew. When replacing the tooth, we have not fixed the problem with the balance. You may want to consider scheduling a consultation for denture replacement.
It May Be Time to Consider a Replacement Set
In the case of a denture breaking in half, it can typically be repaired in a short amount of time. Atlantic Denture Clinic can put it back together in about one hour. You should understand that it could break again at any time. There are no guarantees in this type of repair. Again, this type of break is often caused by the balance of your denture as it hits your other denture or natural teeth when you chew. If it happened while you were eating, there is a likelihood that it will break again. You should consider a consultation to replace your dentures. If your denture broke due to dropping it on the floor, a simple repair will usually resolve the problem.
